Rick Owens and Birkenstock are teaming up

The pairing of a legacy German comfort-footwear label and the dark lord of futuristic fashion.The multidisciplinary designer has reimagined three classic Birkenstock styles using a variety of fabrics, including full-grain leather, felt, and pony hair. If the teaser is any indicator, and knowing Owens’s favorite color palette, you can expect lots of dark monochromatic shades. In addition to the limited-edition kicks, there will also be a traveling mobile pop-up space that will appear at the Los Angeles Rick Owens store in March. Dubbed the “Birkenstock Box,” it’ll include more sandals and shoes from the brand’s main line alongside select Rick Owens clothing and accessories.
